r7 strength and conditioning programs place a large emphasis on developing a physically strong, resilient, and capable body that enables you to connect with the world around you. Our work in the gym trains the body. our work outside of the gym trains the brain. we can connect training inputs to associated outputs/results, reinforcing positive feedback loops that create a healthy, sustainable relationship with exercise.

the personal definition of strength acts as a guide to align coach and client by demonstrating what pillars of health take precedence in a person’s life. through this understanding, we can build a symbiotic relationship between pillars and look at a person in their entirety, rather than in isolation. the training session is important, but let’s understand how that session translates to how you look, feel, operate, and exist outside the gym. your training program should be specific to what you want your life to look like, not just what you want your body to look like.

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am so happy that you have found r7 strength and are considering becoming a part of the community. as a coach, I Strive to have open and honest dialogue with all of my clients in order to provide the highest quality service possible and tailor protocols accordingly, making them specific to the client and their circumstances. In an effort to break down barriers and get comfortable getting personal, I’ll share my story and journey to becoming the coach I am today and founding r7 strength.
My background is in engineering, with a B.S. in Architectural Engineering. I learned the fundamentals of physics and chemistry in the context of designing and optimizing building systems. the program curriculum consisted of moment arms and levers, applying forces, laws of thermodynamics, heat transfer, energy balances, units of energy, and the list goes on. Originally, I applied these concepts to a building; now, I apply these concepts to the body. I view the human body as an incredibly complex, dynamic “building” with different systems we can train, optimize, and seek to understand. A building is only as strong as its foundation - strength training builds a foundation for your health that we can then build upon to optimize your body and your life.
Even though I love the math and science rooted in engineering, I consistently found myself more interested in how people interacted with and existed within the building I was designing rather than the building itself. I found passion in understanding how different design elements could impact how people interpret, feel, and function in a space and how I could use this knowledge to create healthy spaces. this passion combined with the solace and strength I found through my time in the gym, prompted the transition from engineering to coaching/training. As an engineer, I could optimize a built space - a person’s external, artificial environment; as a coach, I can optimize a person’s body and mind - a person's internal environment. i’ve built a coaching framework that blends my technical, science-based background with a deep understanding of human psychology, physiology, and training methodologies that allows me to help clients reach their goals while fostering love, connection, and community.
My journey isn’t just about the technical aspects of training - it’s also deeply personal. I’ve been in recovery from an eating disorder since April 13, 2020, an experience that profoundly shapes my approach to training and health. I believe in a holistic approach, nothing exists in isolation and mental resilience and physical strength go hand in hand. My recovery has been far from linear, I’ve fallen more times than I can count, but I have found strength in sharing my story. By embracing my own challenges and finding my voice, I’ve learned how powerful vulnerability and resilience can be in the recovery process and the pursuit of strength.
At its core, this company and brand is a love letter to myself, a way of putting the pieces back together and finding my voice again. r7 strength coaching is designed to optimize results, adherence, and personal growth by recognizing how we can use our training to create a physically strong body that enables us to pursue our own, personal definition of strength. to me, strength is more than just weight on the bar and how we look in the mirror, it’s creating connections, habits, and having honest, open dialogue that enhances how we function throughout our lives - not just in the gym. let’s work together to find your definition of strength and customize a training program that empowers you to take control of your health and story. I’m so excited to embark on this journey with you as you build real, raw, resilient strength.
